This video was presented to me through a lecture in my addictions class. I feel this entire video is trying to be persuasive through the use of kairos. The first thing they show you is that if you drink and drive you're gonna crash your car. Then you'll you to prison because of it. Then you could either die or you can kill someone. This is kairos because it is taking advantage of a situation. showing you the affects you could have. This is also stasis because its using a theme from assumptions based off of things that have happened in the past. This is also a dramatisation. the scene is the time we are in now being aware of the dangers of drinking and driving. the agent would be you. the agency would be drinking and choosing to drive. The purpose would be to get home but dangerously. All in all I actually think this could be more persuasive if it wasn't as rash as it is. Yes these things can happen but I think it would be better to show them getting away ok at first then let the bad things happen to them.

  1. Thought you were detailed in the particulars of rhetoric theories but I feel like it could use more description and explanation of your personal view

  2. I like the connections you made between the reading and alcohol. I didn't think of that connection and I like your insight. Using drinking and driving as a fear mechanism is a good way to use Kairos.
